About Little Vita

Our story, our values, our team

Our story

Built on nearly 90 years of care

Little Vita’s Nursery is operated by the same governing body as Vita et Pax Preparatory School — an independent prep school that has cared for families in Southgate since 1936.

The nursery has been launched as a standalone business so that we can focus entirely on the early years — purpose-built routines, a dedicated team and an environment that celebrates the unique character of children aged 2 to 4.

Children at Little Vita benefit from everything you would expect from a long-established preparatory school — qualified staff, beautiful grounds, a hot kitchen, music and movement specialists — while keeping the warmth and intimacy of a small, family-feel nursery.

Our values

The principles behind everything we do

Kindness

We model the kindness we want to see — between children, with parents, and across our team. It costs nothing and changes everything.

Calm

Little ones thrive in calm spaces. Our routines, voices and rooms are designed so that children feel safe, settled and ready to play.

Curiosity

We follow children's interests and let them lead. Real learning happens when a child is genuinely engaged, not when they're told to be.

Care

Every detail — from how we serve lunch to how we say goodbye at the door — is an opportunity to show a child that they matter.

Family

Parents are partners. We share the small wins, the funny moments, and the harder days, because raising little ones is a team sport.

Heritage

We bring nearly 90 years of preparatory-school experience to early years — but we never let tradition get in the way of a good idea.

Our team

The grown-ups who'll look after your little one

Every member of our nursery team is qualified in early years care, DBS-checked, paediatric first-aid trained, and chosen for the warmth and patience they bring to children's lives.

Our setting is led by a qualified Nursery Manager working alongside the senior leadership team of our parent school. The team is supported by the school's safeguarding lead, SENCo, and pastoral staff — meaning every child has a wider circle of expertise around them, even within our small nursery.

Full team biographies will be added shortly. In the meantime, the best way to meet us is in person — please book a visit.
